Your LinkedIn URL is the web address of your profile, in the form linkedin.com/in/your-name. On a computer it is in your browser's address bar when you view your profile, and under Public profile & URL on the right of the profile page. In the app it is in your profile's Contact info. The steps and rules below are from LinkedIn's help page on public profile URLs, read on October 22, 2026.

The short version: click Me › View Profile, then the edit icon next to Public profile & URL. Your URL is shown under Edit your custom URL, where you can also change the last part to your name. Custom URLs are 3 to 100 characters, with no spaces, symbols or the word LinkedIn, and you can change yours five times in six months.

How do I find my LinkedIn URL on a computer?

  2. Click View Profile. Your URL is now in the browser's address bar.
  3. To see it on its own, click the edit icon next to Public profile & URL in the right pane. It is shown under Edit your custom URL, ready to copy.

How do I find my LinkedIn URL in the app?

  1. Tap your profile photo, then tap it again to open your profile.

  3. Your Profile URL is listed on the Edit contact info page. Tap it to open your public profile settings, where you can copy or change it.

How do I change my LinkedIn URL?

On a computer:

  1. Click Me › View Profile.
  2. Click the edit icon next to Public profile & URL in the right pane.
  3. Under Edit your custom URL, click the edit icon next to your URL.
  4. Type the last part of your new URL, for example jane-doe or janedoemarketing.
  5. Click Save.

In the app, open Edit contact info as above, tap your Profile URL, then the edit icon under Edit your custom URL, type the new ending and tap Save.

What are the rules for a custom LinkedIn URL?

  • Length: 3 to 100 characters.
  • Characters: no spaces, symbols, special characters or the word "LinkedIn". Capital letters do not matter.
  • Availability: first come, first served. LinkedIn will not free up a URL someone else holds; pick a variation instead.
  • How often: up to five changes in six months. After the fifth, you wait six months.
  • Your old URL: stays linked to you for six months, and nobody else can claim it, unless you unlink it. An unlinked URL is held for seven days before others can take it.
  • The assigned URL: LinkedIn also gives every profile a fixed URL, shown under "Assigned URL cannot be changed". It only changes if you change your name.

What should my LinkedIn URL be?

Your name, as people would type it: linkedin.com/in/jane-doe. If it is taken, add a middle initial, your field or your city (jane-doe-design, janedoe-london) rather than numbers, which are hard to say aloud and look like the default. Keep it the same as your handles elsewhere if you can, so people find you on every network with one name.

How do I put my LinkedIn URL on my CV?

Use the custom URL without https://www.: linkedin.com/in/jane-doe is short enough for a CV header and still works when typed. In a PDF, make it a link. Before you send the CV, open the URL in a private browser window to check that it loads and that your public profile shows what you want strangers to see.

How do I find a LinkedIn company Page URL?

Open the Page and copy the address from your browser: it has the form linkedin.com/company/page-name. In the app, open the Page and use its share option to copy the link.

After the URL, the profile

A tidy URL gets people to your profile; the profile and your posts keep them there. Size your LinkedIn banner and profile picture, read our guide to writing a LinkedIn post, and post at the hours your network is on LinkedIn.
