To repost on LinkedIn, click Repost under the post and choose Repost to share it straight away, or Repost with your thoughts to add a few lines of your own on top. The steps below are from LinkedIn's help page on reposting and its page for LinkedIn Pages, read on October 22, 2026.
The short version: Repost › Repost shares the post to your network at once, with no comment. Repost › Repost with your thoughts opens the composer: write why it matters, choose who can see it, then click Post. Undo either one by deleting it from the More menu on your repost. If the button is missing, the post was shared with connections only or came from a Group.

How do I repost on LinkedIn?
On desktop:
- Click Repost under the post.
- Choose Repost with your thoughts or Repost from the menu. A plain repost goes out straight away and a confirmation appears at the lower left; click View post to see it.
- If you chose to add your thoughts, write them in the pop-up. Type @ to mention people, companies or schools.
- Click the menu next to your name and choose who can see the post under Who can see your post?, then click Done.
- Click Post at the lower right.
How do I repost on the LinkedIn app?
- Tap Repost below the post.
- Choose Repost with your thoughts or Repost.
- To add your thoughts, type them on the post page, with @ for mentions.
- Tap the Anyone menu next to your name to choose the audience.
- Tap Post at the upper right.
Should I repost with my thoughts or without?
With them, almost always. A plain repost shows your network the original post with your name above it, and nothing about why you shared it. Two or three lines of your own (what you would add, where you disagree, who should read it) make the repost yours, give people a reason to comment on your post, and show your network what you think. Keep it short and specific: the original is right under your words.
If the words do not come, paste the original post into Skryvo and ask for two lines on it: it writes them in your brand's voice, so the repost sounds like your other posts. Then paste them into LinkedIn's repost box.
Why can't I repost on LinkedIn?
LinkedIn's help gives three reasons the Repost option is missing:
- The post is shared with connections only. Other members cannot repost it.
- The post is in a LinkedIn Group. Group posts cannot be reposted.
- You are not connected to the author. LinkedIn may limit reposts from members you are not connected with.
If the button is missing, you can still share the post privately: click Send, choose people, add a message if you like, and send it. Private sends do not appear in the post's list of reposts.
How do I undo a repost on LinkedIn?
Delete it. On your repost, click or tap the More icon, choose Delete post, then Delete. The original post is not affected; only your repost and any comments on it go.
How do I repost as a LinkedIn Page?
Only a Page super admin can. Go to the Page's super admin view, click View as member, find the post and click Repost. Choose Repost or Repost with your thoughts, then use the menu next to your name to post as the Page, set who can see it, turn comments on or off and add a brand partnership label if it applies. Click Post. The repost appears in your followers' feeds with the Page's logo. On mobile, start from the More menu at the upper right, then View as a member and Posts.
A LinkedIn Page cannot schedule reshares, so Page reposts are always published live.
What happens when you repost a repost?
Your words go on top, the earlier repost's words sit below them, and the original post sits at the bottom. Readers can tap each level to go back to the post before it. If the chain gets long, repost the original instead, so your readers do not have to dig.
What is the difference between a like and a repost on LinkedIn?
A like, or any reaction, tells the author you appreciated the post and adds you to its reaction count. A repost puts the post on your own profile and in your network's feed as something you shared, and with your thoughts added it becomes a post of yours that people can comment on. React when you agree; repost when your network should see it and you have something to add.
Write your own posts too
Reposts keep you visible between your own posts, but they do not replace them. Plan both on one content calendar, use our guide to writing a LinkedIn post for the ones that start from you, and post them at the hours your network is on LinkedIn. Skryvo schedules your LinkedIn posts with the rest of your channels.
