Facebook schedules posts for Pages through Meta Business Suite: write the post, pick a date and time, and it publishes on its own. The steps below are from Meta's Business Help Centre, checked October 22, 2026, with the limits most guides leave out.

The short version: open your Page, click Meta Business Suite, then Create post. Write it, turn on Set date and time under Scheduling options, pick when, and click Schedule. A post can go out anywhere from 20 minutes to 29 days ahead, and you change it later from the Planner.

How do I schedule a post on a Facebook Page?

  1. Switch to the Page you want to post as.
  2. Click Meta Business Suite in the Page's left menu.
  3. Click Create post under the Page's profile picture.
  4. Add your text, photos or video.
  5. Next to Scheduling options, turn on Set date and time.
  6. Pick the date and time. Active times suggests hours when your followers were most active over the past seven days.
  7. Click Schedule.

Times are in your own time zone. Anyone with Facebook or task access to the Page can create and edit scheduled posts.

How far in advance can you schedule a Facebook post?

Between 20 minutes and 29 days, according to Meta. A post for next month's launch therefore has to wait until it is inside that window, which is one reason teams keep a longer plan elsewhere, such as our free social media calendar template.

How do I schedule in Meta Business Suite on desktop?

Go to Meta Business Suite and click Create post on the home page or the Content tab. Under Post to, choose the Facebook Page, an Instagram account or a Facebook group; you can schedule to more than one at once and adjust the text for each. Set the time under Scheduling options and click Schedule. You need full control of the Page or content permission to post (Meta's Business Suite post help).

How do I edit or reschedule a scheduled Facebook post?

From the Page, open Meta Business Suite and the Planner, find the post on the week or month view, and click Options. You can edit it, duplicate it, reschedule it, move it back to drafts (which cancels the scheduled time) or delete it. In Business Suite on desktop, the same options sit under Content › Posts and reels › Scheduled: click the three dots, then Manage post.

Can you schedule Reels on Facebook?

Yes. In Meta Business Suite, click Create reel, choose the Page, add your video or photos, edit, and at the final step choose to schedule and set the date and time. On the Business Suite phone app, tap +, choose Reel, and pick Schedule for later under Scheduling options. Reels from business and creator Pages are always public (Meta's Reels help).

Can you schedule a live video on Facebook?

Yes, on desktop in Live Producer: choose where to post, click Select on the Go live card, set When are you going live? to Later, pick the date and time, and click Schedule live video. A scheduled live video can be up to 24 hours ahead, and your audience is not told in advance; to go live further out and notify people, create a live video event instead. If you set it up with a webcam, start it yourself at the time; with streaming software it starts on its own (Meta's Live help).

Can you schedule a post on a personal Facebook profile?

Meta documents scheduling for Pages, groups and Instagram accounts in Business Suite. Facebook's help for posts on a personal profile covers sharing, editing and changing a post's date, but describes no way to schedule one (checked October 22, 2026). If you need to schedule regularly, post from a Page.

Scheduling Facebook with your other channels

Business Suite covers Facebook and Instagram. If the same news also goes to LinkedIn, X, Bluesky or a Discord server, writing each version and keeping track of five schedulers is where the time goes. Skryvo writes a version for each network in your brand's voice and publishes them from one calendar; LinkedIn, X, Bluesky, Mastodon and others work today, and Facebook Page publishing is built and waiting for Meta to finish reviewing our app (the Facebook page has the current status). Before you post, check each version against each network's character limits.

Schedule the posts you already know you will publish, keep them inside the 29-day window, and leave the Planner open on Mondays so nothing goes out that no longer fits the week.

I wrote this myself. I have built mobile apps and websites for companies in the US and Europe since 2022, and I built Skryvo after one too many AI drafts fell apart the moment someone checked a fact. Everything I publish here is tested on my own work first, and I show the numbers, including the ones that did not go my way.
