The best AI image generator for marketing depends on what happens after the picture. For a striking look, Midjourney. For safe use inside Adobe's tools and a choice of models, Firefly. For words inside the picture, try Ideogram. For a template and a layout, Canva. For pictures in your brand's look, sized for each channel and placed in a post, we built Skryvo.
The short version: a generator makes one picture; marketing needs your logo and colours on it, every size each channel wants, and a post to put it in. Prices below were read from each tool's pricing page on November 7, 2026.

What makes an AI image generator good for marketing?
Four things matter more than a pretty sample: it keeps your brand's look across pictures, it can set your words correctly, it produces the sizes you post in, and you can change one thing without starting again. Try the same real brief in two tools and judge the fifth picture you make, not the first.
Best for a strong look: Midjourney
Basic is $10 a month or $8 billed yearly for about 200 image jobs, and each job gives four images, so about 800 images. Standard is $30 or $24 billed yearly. It also has an editor for uploaded images. It suits brands that lead with a visual style and have someone to place the results in a layout afterwards.
Best for Adobe teams: Firefly
Standard is $9.99 a month with 2,000 generative credits, Pro $19.99 with 4,000, and Pro Plus $49.99 with 10,000, with a free trial on those plans. It includes partner models from Google, OpenAI and Flux as well as Adobe's own. It makes most sense if your team already works in Adobe's apps.
Best for volume: Ideogram
Plus is $20 a month or $180 a year for 2,400 priority credits, with unlimited slow credits and character consistency. Pro is $60 or $504 a year for 7,500 credits with batch generation. Its plans include image and video models, which suits a team producing many variations of one character or scene. It offers no trial on subscriptions, though eligible free accounts get weekly credits.
Best for layouts: Canva
The free plan includes 1.6 million templates, one Brand Kit with up to 3 colors and limited AI. Pro is priced by country, so check your local page. Canva is a design tool with AI in it, which is often what a small team needs: the picture matters less than the finished post.
Best for pictures in your posts: Skryvo
We make Skryvo, so weigh this one accordingly. The free AI image generator gives you 5 pictures with no sign-up, and its Smart Select picks a model for each prompt and tells you which and why. On a plan, the image editor opens each picture with your logo, colours and words on layouts such as quote, stat or offer. You ask for a change in plain words, see the credit cost before it runs, and keep each result as a take to compare.
It then makes the picture at each channel's size and places it in the post it belongs to. The trade-offs: there is no free plan beyond those tools, it refuses pictures of real, named people, and an artist chasing one exact style may prefer Midjourney's range.
Can you use AI images commercially?
Usually under each tool's terms, but read them, because they differ by plan. Ownership is a separate question: the US Copyright Office concluded that generative AI output can be protected only where a human author has determined sufficient expressive elements, and that prompts alone do not count. Avoid real people and other companies' logos, and label pictures where a platform or law requires it.
Is there a free AI image generator?
Yes. Skryvo gives 5 free pictures with no sign-up, Canva's free plan includes limited AI, and ChatGPT has a free plan. Free limits suit testing a style, so check them before you plan a campaign around one.
How to get better pictures from any generator
- Name what is visible. The subject, the place and the light work better than a mood.
- Choose the shape first. A 4:5 feed post and a 9:16 story need different framing. Check Instagram post sizes.
- Add words last. Set headlines in a layout tool when you can, because generated text still goes wrong.
