How do I change the font on Instagram?
Instagram has no font menu for bios or captions, so the styled text people use is not a font at all: it is Unicode, a set of letter-shaped symbols such as 𝐁 and 𝓑 that every phone can show. Type your text above, tap Copy next to a style, then paste it into your bio, name or caption in the Instagram app. Stories and Reels have their own text fonts inside the editor; use those there.
Where should I use Instagram fonts?
Sparingly: one word or one line in a bio, or a heading in a long caption. Two cautions decide where. Screen readers read many of these symbols letter by letter or skip them, so a caption written entirely in a fancy style can be unreadable to people who use one. And Instagram search matches plain letters, so keep your name, your business type and your city in plain text where people search for them.
Why do some letters look different or show as boxes?
A few styles borrow letters from older Unicode blocks, so a script or gothic letter can look slightly unlike its neighbours, and older phones may show an empty box for a symbol they lack. Styles only cover the letters a to z and, for some, numbers; other characters and emoji stay as they are. Check the result in the Instagram app before you save.

Are Instagram fonts allowed?
Yes. They are ordinary Unicode characters, the same kind as emoji, so Instagram accepts them anywhere you can type.
Do fancy fonts hurt my Instagram reach?
They do not lower reach directly, but people cannot find a name or keyword written in styled letters, because search reads plain text. Keep searchable words plain.
Can I use these fonts on other apps?
